How exciting that the bathroom remodel on the Travis 1 house is finished! It has gone from being a boring, outdated space with a horribly place window just begging to leak, to being fresh, clean, so cute, and that nasty window is GONE!
It was really feeling like the project was just never even going to get started. The contractor that had won the bid to do the job just disappeared. Have no fear, Mandi knows people. That’s where Ryan comes in. Originally he was only going to replace some light fixtures and by the time it has come to a close, he has done that, numerous other odds and ends that no one saw coming, and he has rebuilt that tired bathroom.
Please check out these pictures of the new bathroom. It’s really very nice and it is ready for the final touches of decorating to be done with it. I am usually not a fan of the black and white floors, but I really like this that Sue Ann picked out. Ryan did a fantastic job putting it in and I really think I may have to rethink what I feel about the black and white floors.
It gives me ideas for my new house bathroom for sure. (I have an update on that project coming very soon.) Being as close to this project as I have been was really a good experience for future jobs that will come up and for my own personal journey with home renovations as well. Some parts were tedious and some parts were confusing, but we have made a new relationship with another local person. We also rallied together as a team and combined our efforts to make this a wonderful experience. Overall the experience was worth it. It may not have felt like it when we would find one more thing that needed to be fixed, but really that is going to happen with almost every house we ever touch anyway.
The bathroom took a little longer than we anticipated, but I am very confident that it was done correctly. That is the end goal. I would rather see a project take a while longer and know it is really done right than have it finished ahead and have to hire someone to fix a rushed job. Patience is a virtue. Hermits have a lot of that particular virtue.
