It’s a happy day for the Hermits! We have closed on the sale of our Lakeland house, after lots and lots of work by Carol and Russell, who supervised the renovation. Thanks for all the hard work, guys, and thanks for handling the closing, Carol! The closing was originally scheduled for the 17th, then it moved to the 18th. Then to the 23rd! This has to have been NO fun for the people buying the house! And we’d sorta hoped to have the bucks to fund the rehab for the Roadrunner property…but it’s done now!
We learned many lessons from working on this house, plus we gained a lot of experience during the months we used the house as a vacation rental. Russell put in many miles going back and forth to get it ready for the next visitor each weekend. Much laundry was done. But at least no deer lost their lives while Russel was going back and forth along the road to Point Venture! It’s on a LONG peninsula.
However, the good news is that this project DID make quite a nice amount of money for our company, so we can now move forward with some capital for more projects and income to live on and pay our staff! And since Lee and I were private money lenders on the project, we even made some interest, personally.
Carol found pictures that the people we bought the house from took before they started working on it, before we bought the house. She made collages of the same views before and after, and I’m happy to share them here. Wow, you can see how much the place has changed after they, then we, turned it into a Mediterranean dream. Click on them to see them enlarged.
It’s nice when a (renovation) plan comes together!
Thanks again to our friend Leah, who found us the house. We wish the new owners, who will be living and working in the area, many years of joy and fun around the waters of beautiful Lake Travis.
