Because we have a hard deadline of this Friday, when a bunch of boxes and furniture arrive from the soon-to-be-sold Braesgate house, the workers have been working hard to get ready.
When we last visited on Monday, we saw that all the walls had been textured (that means they put a decorative finish on them, before priming and painting. That’s a LOT of work, and it all looked very good.
In better news, flooring was going into the master bathroom, which means that the big bed will have a place to sit. That was my main worry–having somewhere to set that monster and its monster mattress up. Whew. The floor looks beautiful (check the gallery below!). PLUS the tile was going into the master bathroom. It’s a bit busy, but I really like it. The rest of the room has very subtle, calm tiles and the walls will be painted a periwinkle color, so I think it will look fine.
Yesterday the kitchen cabinets arrived. Hooray. Some changes need to be made to the island, but the other cabinets look beautiful. I do like the color. I better, since walls in the house will also be that color. Very calm and soothing to go with my predominantly cream and gray color scheme.
There’s still a lot of work to be done, but with the flooring going in, trim to come soon, and heck, maybe even DOORS installed, it’s really looking like a house.
Bonus: I met the buyers of the Braesgate house yesterday and gave them some of our old furniture. They have moved here from Hawaii, so they don’t have anything at all. They can just use the old stuff and then give it to Goodwill when they get better things. We also gave the husband the tools in the garage, since we have duplicates of most of them. He was so thrilled. I’m very glad my nice neighbors will have nice NEW neighbors with young kids to play with theirs.
Thanks to Ruben for the photos of the cabinets!
