On Facebook Live last Saturday, I did a tour of the Hermit Haus/Hermits’ Rest Enterprises office in Cameron. I thought I would try to share it here, for anyone who isn’t checking our Facebook page constantly. Did you know that we just reached the milestone of 1,000 Facebook likes? My hard work social media-ating has paid off!
Let’s see if it works! Wow! There it is! My giant hair and all!
Why Does This Matter?
This goes to show you, fellow investor folks, if you do a tour of a house or a prospective rehab and post it to Facebook, it’s really easy to share it with others. I’d say it’s even easier than using a YouTube channel (though that does have its advantages). This is a very easy way for prospective clients and investors to get to know you as a real person (mistakes make you human!), really see the work you do, and interact. Many people prefer watching a video to reading, so a little video is a great addition to your blog posts. Now I just have to do what I am telling you to do!
How Did I Do It?
I’m a technical writer, so I should be able to write instructions, right? Here’s a short version. If you are confused, let me know and I’ll write it out professionally.
- I just got the URL for the video from my phone by going to the post of the video, then clicking Share > Copy Link. You can do it on the computer if you set it to posting as yourself, not as your business (dropdown next to your profile picture).
- I pasted the URL into an email and sent it to myself (could have skipped this step if I’d found how to do it on the computer sooner). I copied the URL.
- Then I opened a new blog post in WordPress and pasted it on this page via the Add Media button >Insert from URL.
- My giant head soon appeared in the blog post. I am guessing this will work from whatever software you blog from.
Enough of that. Now you can check out where Lee and Mandi work all week, and where I work on Fridays. And Saturdays, since this got recorded on a Saturday. Enjoy!
