I arranged to have a carpet cleaner go out to our St. John property in San Antonio, from which we previously vacated the squatter. I was surprised to hear him tell me that our guest had apparently been back and up to his old tricks again.
At least it wasn’t a full encampment like before, and he at least had the courtesy not to break any windows to get in.
Thanks to some powerful cleaning agents, the new carpet looks new again.
We are now working to secure all those windows and doors properly. Also paint touch-up is on the way. The previous painters “missed some spots.”

I don’t know what to say about that. I am not sure what I would say if I caught a squatter in the house we are buying. Probably not good things.
I had the same experience while trying to clean up my grandmother’s house in Gainesville, FL. The tenants (2) would not leave. The girl’s boyfriend threatened to shoot me!!! Finally I had to call my grandmother’s lawyer to get her out. The guy left but what a mess he left. The house was so dirty and falling apart. It took us 2 weeks to clean it up and paint the entire inside.
That sounds awful.
