As the Oakridge project draws to a close, lots of outdoor work is getting done. The exterior of the house was a jewel that just needed a bit of outer polishing, so that made it fun.
What about the Interior?
Inside, the beautiful flooring got delayed by illness; we are not immune to the flu, and are glad Ray’s feeling better. But it’s really, really close to being done!
Bedroom carpet is coming in today (that fits the neighborhood standard, though was NOT what we actually wanted to do). It sure will be good to have flooring everywhere, since it’s the last interior touch.
Also on the agenda is replacing the tops to the four skylights in the house. As they have aged, they have become quite yellow. Carol’s going to get a bid on replacing just the tops. Let’s hope that works out!
A team swooped in and cleaned out all the flower beds and the vegetable garden in the back yard (there is also a nice greenhouse). Since Russell scored the HUGE amount of mulch from the City of Round Rock, everything is now mulched to perfection, and all the beds are nicely lined with limestone borders. It took a couple of days, but it well worth it.
We hope you enjoy these in-progress photos Carol has shared. We will be showing you the finished work soon. Today is the day for more photos.
In addition, rather than try painting those garage doors again, Carol decided to get new ones. No new lipstick on the pig that was those old doors! She got light doors that will brighten the exterior, and these doors feature windows high on the doors, which will provide more privacy than the previous doors did, yet still let in some light. Windows in garage doors are a great touch, especially if you have a workshop and want to work when it’s chilly outside.
What Else Is New?
We hear rumors that there is a lovely pond in the back yard. Water features go over well with buyers. Russell patched a crack in the pond, refilled it, and says it’s now a wonderful asset to an already lovely house! We can’t wait to see photos of that!
We hope to get Oakridge staged and on the market very, very soon. Call Carol at 512-807-8777 if you are looking in Round Rock and want to get on the list of the first people to see the finished project.
