Mandi’s taking a day off, so I’m here to report briefly on what’s up at the Rattlesnake House project.
And it’s good news! The folks at the County came by yesterday and replaced the culvert and repaired the entrance to the driveway. That’s going to make it a lot easier for Chris and his team to get in, and “paves” the way to us being able to add some road base to the driveway and make it safer for everybody. From the looks of it, this repair should last a while. And as a bonus, they cut back some of the evil river cane (AKA arundo grass).
Other repairs continue to be a two steps forward, one step back kind of thing. Every time Chris looks under a floor board, he sees something else that needs to be replaced, such as plumbing stuff that goes nowhere, large collections of chicken wire and debris, and many other wonders.
Luckily, a new helper has been installed, and Mandi’s son, Matthew, has been helping out and learning while he does so. It’s great to have another person to do some of that work, and he can keep going when Chris and Gary head back to their more civilized projects.
Hoping next week brings more forward progress.
Thanks to Mandi for the photos!
