We’ve been really encouraged by our forward momentum lately. Our projects are moving forward and we are turning properties over in a variety of ways. That’s the plan!
We had hoped to turn the Roadrunner house from a rental to a sale by now, but there have been some tedious legalities to deal with on that one. BUT, we heard yesterday that all’s clear to close. We are happy for the family who’s living there, who now can breathe a sigh of relief and know they get to stay, as well as for us, since we’re no longer going to have to make all the payments the property owner has to pay. Good stuff.
Since our luck with contractors on that one hasn’t been very good, we have also offered it for sale in its current condition. There has been a lot of interest, actually, and we have accepted an offer on it. Of course, those can fall through, so we’re still accepting back-ups!
The former hoarder house is moving along just fine. We close in a couple of weeks, and Carol is working on getting going quickly once that happens.
The Hermit Haus
Closing on the former church was changed from Monday to this Friday, but that’s fine. We will have it for the weekend, and start to work on that, preparing to move our offices in there, so we can rent our Travis office to friends who want to live and start a business there.
Oddly enough, I attended a ranch management for women workshop last weekend that gave me some ideas for the Hermit Haus property (they talked about using a ranch for events as one way to make money). You can often find real estate information in odd places, if you keep your mind open! Plus, I got to do skeet shooting and archery, and learn about the benefits of exotic animals on ranchland. Maybe we can put an emu at the Hermit Haus (no, we won’t).
Carol has been identifying some properties of interest (houses, condos, you name it), and Russell is finding others. The key is to evaluate their appropriateness quickly enough to get the good ones, so we’re sending Carol good “find that house” vibes!
Keep letting us know if we can help you, or you have a property you think we might like (512-807-8777). In the past couple of weeks, we’ve had some good discussions with potential buyers and sellers.
We’re like the Little Redevelopment Engine that Could, just chugging along! Thanks for joining us on the journey.Hermann says please like and share!
