Hey there! My dog, Vlassic, and I took a detour on our way to Cameron last Friday to drop by the Parkwood house in Round Rock. I liked how close the neighborhood is to shopping, schools, and Dell. I even met a very nice neighbor, who told us how happy she was to see the house in such good shape.
I figure since I took some pictures and it finally is a clear day, I should share them. So, here goes. I’ll put most of them in a gallery at the end of the post.
The thing that struck me the most was how light the house is during the day, thanks to the beautiful skylights that have been installed strategically. They’ll help save electricity, that’s for sure. And since they are professional grade, they were easy to seal and make water tight for a happy future.
Speaking of water, the recent rains were very helpful in that they proved there are no leaks in the house and they showed where we could work on the drainage some. So, right now the front of the house is prepared for a French drain to be installed to keep water from pooling in the middle of the yard. It will be a great solution.
Inside, all I saw was nice work. The windows have made a big difference, and things like new doorknobs and freshly painted cabinets have brought the whole house into this century. Even the garage is all freshly painted and the laundry room looks happy and has a new window.
My favorite things are the kitchen’s custom touches, like the floating shelves and the repurposed cabinet that now becomes a divider. The dark color on that cabinet echoes the dark beam in the ceiling, bringing the mostly gray and white house a bit of balance and depth.
It was fun to visit the house and see the privacy of the back yard and the cute houses in the neighborhood. We can’t wait to share it with you!
Remember, this house can be yours (or a friend’s!) if you phone 512-807-8777 and make an offer. Carol is standing by.
