Hey there, readers! You probably know that our partners, Carol and Russell Mangum, have been on an adventure where they move into luxury homes and stage them to help them sell. Whille it’s fun to live all over Austin and enjoy swimming pools, guest houses, and such, the frequent moving can be a pain (even though the staging company pays for it).
Of course, they’ve pared down their possessions to the bare minimum to make packing easier. And by now, they have a system to speed things along. Still, when their previous house sold before they’d even settled in, they needed an even more efficient way to move.
Carol discovered Bronko Boxes, which are very strong collapsible moving boxes that their movining company provided. Apparently, they almost make moving fun, if that’s possible.
Here’s what Carol told us:
We got 46 Bronko Boxes for this move. They were delivered, come with their own moving dollies, and were picked up seven days later. MAN! They must’ve saved us at least a day in assembly, trips back and forth to the store for supplies, tape, markers, box assembly and disposal time! And, they’re earth friendly too!
They’re nice and clean and come with easy stick/removable stickers, too! Yes, it does cost a bit more, but the value they return in energy expenditure and time savings, after all is said and done, is remarkable. Two thumbs-up for Bronko Boxes! (It’s really satisfying stacking them as they’re emptied too!)
Wow! This must be a best-kept secret of frequent movers. No wonder we didn’t hear any complaining at all from our colleagues during this most recent move.
As people who value the abilikty to re-use things, Bronko Boxes seem like an ideal tool. While paper boxes can be recycled, they are awkward to store and only last a few moves.
I also like that there are removable stickers you can put on boxes. We’ve found that by the third move it’s hard to tell what’s in any particular box.
Has anyone else out there used this kind of system before? We’d love to hear your stories.
