We’ve had our Travis 2 house for rent for a while. It’s been frustrating that Mandi and Lee keep going out there to show the house to people who just don’t show up. So, they’ve changed the plan, and now you don’t get to go in the house if you haven’t filled out a rental application. At least that lowers the frustration levels. Unfortuately, it doesn’t stop the stream of callers who, after looking at the sign, call and ask what the rent is, then, after Mandi explains, they ask if we would take $300. Yes, in Cameron, the expected rent seems to be $300 a month.
That would be fine if we had one of those falling-apart rent houses, but we don’t. We’ve fixed this house up, and would like it to remain in good shape when it’s rented, so we’d prefer someone who’s in a position to keep it up. We know they are out there! We have two good tenants in our other houses, one of whom just power-washed the deck for us. That’s a good tenant!
We realized there were still a few details missing in this place, like a door to the front bedroom. We wonder where that went in the first renovation! So, David and Kim have been in there fixing that and a few other things, like windows that had never had paint scraped off them (easier said than done; it needed solvent), and putting new knobs on the cool build-in drawers.
The house is actually sparkly and full of possibilities.
