We promise Kathleen’s office is all clean and will not have a tiny desk and chairs when she moves her stuff in.
We’ve decided that it’s time to let people know they can book meetings in the sanctuary area upstairs in The Hermit Haus, so we’ve declared the website live. The first meeting with Milam Touch of Love went well, and the place is just waiting to be used. We also now have someone (our friend Melissa) to help us with the cleaning and set-up (and to keep the downstairs office area clean, too), so we figure we can take limited bookings from people who don’t mind the large refrigerator up front. Heck, it’s a feature, if you want to serve beverages.
Make sure you check out the website for The Hermit Haus, because that’s where we’ll be posting more about the history of the place, and updates on our renovation process, which is about ready to kick into gear with some funds coming in! Mandi and I look forward to serving our community through this meeting space for a long time to come. We’re just getting started.
Hermit Haus Fact
Yesterday, Mandi found out that one of the church’s members was the actor Tommy Lee Jones’ mother! We wrote up a little post about her for the blog over there. Please take a moment to visit it (and to give us a web hit so we have “stats”). She sounds like she was a cool woman, and quite independent. Like us, right?
We would love to hear from anyone in Cameron who knows more about the history of the First Christian Church, because we want to honor the past of our building as we move forward to the future.
Hermann says please like and share!
