Anita and I have been talking a lot about the trim colors for the Nash house. The first decision we made was not to paint the brick after all. We decided it adds “vintage charm” just the way it is, and that painting the trim will spiff it up enough. Lee has decided to put a new roof on as well, and anything other than the color it is will be a great improvement. We will find a color that goes well with the coral colored brick and doesn’t stand out. Lee wishes we could do a metal roof. That would look SO good and be low maintenance, too.
So, we have decided on a very subdued grayish green (Acacia Haze) for the main trim, and a grayish white (Elder White) for the side of the house and soffits. We are also going to paint the metal trim and the garage the green, which will add some personality to the house. If we keep the screen door or get a new one, we will make it green, too.
This will blend in nicely with all the trees surrounding the place, and at least be a little different from all the brick houses in the neighborhood with plain white trim.
Cody is ready to get to work on the painting, so we are excited. Of course, there is a lot of rotten wood to be replaced, which will also be to the benefit of the house. Yee haw!
In other news, we should be able to get started on the Nash house one of these days. We had to start all over with the legal papers, but we’re moving forward again now!Hermann says please like and share!
