That’s right, all is continuing according to plan. Last week the walls got drywall, and this week they got taped and floated. I’ll put photos at the end of this post. It looks like the rest of the new windows are going to have to go in next, which will make a huge difference.
Plus, the final room that needed drywall got its skin. Since it’s intented to be Mandi’s personal bedroom when she buys the place, she was more than a little thrilled, as you can see. She gets misty-eyed over there a lot. The whole place really looks like a house now, which prompted us to bite the bullet and move on to the next thing.
A personal visit to Lowe’s
We could not put the inevitable off any longer. We had to order the rest of the materials for the house. You can’t install flooring without the tile and laminate, and it’s really useful for bedrooms to have doors.
Thus, on Friday, we bravely headed to the Lowe’s in Temple, not really looking forward to visiting the pro desk to order things. So, first we selected stuff that we could get then and there. You know it is not the wrong item if you pick the box up yourself and load it onto a cart. We got most of the light fixtures all in the same rather rustic family. There will be the one you see in the photo hanging from the highest point in the house to light the stairway, then a smaller sconce to match, and a dining room chandelier that is rectangular to go in the dining area. We had to order that one, though, so our fingers are crossed.
