A few blog posts ago, we announced our intentions of having a bake sale to benefit a local charity here in Cameron. The Feeders of the Lambs ministry provides much needed food and meals to so many people. They really are just an incredible organization, and they have some of the best hearts I have ever come across. They provide meals with a heart that is truly wonderful down to the core! I am so proud and humbled to call some of the folks involved in this my friends, and I am beyond blessed that in our hour of need they showed up and helped us beyond anything that we could have asked for.

Now it is time to give back! On Saturday, August 5th, we will hold a bake sale here at the Hermit Haus/Hermits’ Rest office in Cameron from about 10 until we run out. We are at 1600 N. Travis, the gray house with the American flag in front, across from the tire store. There is plenty of parking in front of the warehouse building next door.

I plan to even have cups of homemade ice cream for sale and ready to walk out the door with! How else do you beat the heat around here? We will have all kinds of baked goods, not just sweets, and maybe even some drinks for sale.

While you are there, you can make an offer on either of the tan houses next to the office. Doesn’t that sound fun?

We can’t wait to see everyone, and we want to sell completely out and have to end early!

Giving Back Locally

accident in June of 2015. It left us hungry mostly. It was through the good nature and generosity of the community and food pantries that we survived. I am so excited to find a company to be involved in that believes in giving back to this community who has done so much for my family personally!

I am happy to announce that Hermits’ Rest Enterprises, LLC will be having a bake sale sometime this summer to benefit a local food pantry called “Feeders of the Lambs.” This non profit organization feeds 150 children and families during the summer months through a lunch program that is open to anyone under 18. FotL also gives out a Thanksgiving care package and a Christmas care package to needy families.

Here’s a portion of the description from their Facebook page:

“[We] provide a free meal to children in Cameron after the school summer meal program ends. This year we will operate for 7 weeks, July 7-Aug 22, and will serve approx 150 children Monday thru Friday. We also give the children a “weekend bag” on Friday filled with healthy foods, snacks, and fruit, and we provide some families with boxes of food for the Christmas break.”
